Weekend Overwith Already! :(

Another great weekend overwith too quickly! They just never are long enough! The weather this past weekend was spectacular! I've been so sick of winter sticking around, so it was so nice to enjoy the sunshine!

Friday night I went up to visit my Mom after I got off work. My brother and my Dad had gone to Moncton for the car show and my Mom had been by herself all evening, so I stopped in for a visit. My brother and my Dad arrived home shortly afterwards, so I got to chat with them for a bit too. Ryan stayed home after he got off work on Friday night and watched the hockey game. He had to work Saturday morning and just took it easy on Friday.

Saturday morning my brother called me and asked me if I wanted to go to the market. I told him sure as I had been off Weight Watchers for 3 weeks now (I know, I know) so I might as well take advantage of this last cheat weekend, lol (I'm back on track today). After the market my brother and I headed to Walmart to purchase a gift for our friends Derek and Shelly, who just had a new baby girl (Olivia) at the beginning of last week. We went halves on a baby swing for them.

When I got back to my place Ryan called me and told me that he was going for a cruise on his motorcycle and asked me if I'd like to have a BBQ for supper. I told him sure and he told me that he'd call me when he got back. I then went and paid some bills and went up to visit Carrie's parents and take some things up to them. I then came home and started cleaning up my yard a bit. I have big lilac bushes in my backyard and they are garbage trap. So much litter that people toss around ends up in my yard. Ryan called me while I was working outside (I took the cordless phone outside) and told me he was back and asked me if I wanted to go out to his parent's place (they were away for the weekend). I said sure and quit working outside. I am still not finished cleaning up the garbage in the bushes and I still ended up filling my Trius dolly over half way with the garbage that I did pick up.

I went inside and packed a bag, then headed out and stopped at the liquor store and picked up some beer for Ryan and I. When I got to the house he had supper all cooked for us. He made potato skins for an appetizer, potatoes on the BBQ, BBQ steak, BBQ shrimp and a salad. I was totally impressed and couldn't believe the meal he pulled off for us! It tasted so good too! We then just relaxed for the evening and watched a few movies on the movie channel.

Sunday morning we got up and made a big breakfast. We then decided to go for a drive from there. We headed off in the car and ended up driving through Nackawic, Temperance Vale and came down on the opposite side of the river. We then went to Dairy Queen for an ice cream when we got back to Fredericton. I then went home to my place and picked up the baby swing that my brother and I bought for baby Olivia and then went over to visit them. She is so sweet and very tiny at just 6lbs and 2 oz.

After visiting with the baby, I went to my parent's place for dinner and then back home to my place for the evening. Angela then came over and we watched the Amazing Race and Desperate Housewives and had a few treats.

I'm sad to be back to work today with the expected temperature for today being +26! I'm missing out on prime tanning weather! HAHA.

TGIF with some beautiful weather!!!

Yeah it's Friday! The sun is shining with an anticipated afternoon temperature of +17 degrees today! Too bad I'll be stuck inside and not able to go out and enjoy it! Ah well. The weekend is supposed to be just as lovely, so I may be able to soak up some sun and work on a tan.

Today is also pay day at work, usually always a good day - although most of my pay gets spent within a few days of receiving it. My pay this week was wrong however, I was shorted 2 of my vacation days, so I'm missing 16 hours of pay. I came into work early this morning because I had a suspicion that this may happen. I was supposed to be on vacation for a full two weeks, but with the state of chaos that was going on at work (they were having some issues with the call center in Mexico, which took over Brand A - long story short, they asked me to go back to working Brand A for a while), they asked me if I could come in and work on some of my vacation. I ended up coming in and working 3 of the days that I was supposed to be off. I figured this would screw up my paycheque - which it did, and I was shorted 2 days vacation pay. I spent 1/2 an hour in the payroll lady's office this morning and this issue still isn't resolved. My break is at 2:00 this afternoon and I have to check back in with the payroll lady then. She does see the error on their end, but she has to get approval from head office to cut me a cheque ...which I don't get - they owe me the money, cut me the frigging cheque. Anyway....

Angela came over last night with the proofs completed from Carrie's wedding (her Dad was the photographer for the wedding). The pictures turned out beautifully and Harry (Angela's Dad) took a few shots of Ryan and I at the wedding and they turned out absolutely gorgeous as well. He printed off 2 different proof shots of Ryan and I and then 1 of Ryan and I with Chris and Carrie. I thought that was super nice of him to print those 3 pictures off for me. I can't wait to order some prints from him! I put one of the Ryan and I pictures in a frame at home to replace a hideous shot of the two of us and the other Ryan and I picture I brought with me to replace in my frame at work on my desk. Ryan wanted to keep the one that I brought to work for himself to put on his desk at work, but I told him he couldn't have it, lol. I told him that I would order him one for his desk with my order and that it would be better than this one, because this one was just a proof. He still wanted the picture anyway and tried to hide it from me when I was out of the room last night, lol. I found it and when we he went up to bed last night, I hid it from him! HAHA! It's sweet though how he wanted the picture so bad. I'm just smarter than him and took it back! HAHAHA!

It's About Time!

...that two things happened.

#1) It has FINALLY started to feel like spring outside!
After many long months of bitter cold and wacky weather (not to mention a ground hog who is full of sh*t), it feels like spring has finally sprung. I cannot express to you how sick I am of the cold and snow, not to mention how disappointed I was in us getting that horrible snow storm the Thursday before Easter (which was the weekend that Carrie got married), especially after most of our snow having melted before that. I'm SO ready for bathing suit weather!

#2) Sanjaya has FINALLY been booted off of American idol!
Ok, someone please explain to me how this guy was able to last on the show as long as he did. I thought he was alright during auditions, but he definately wasn't top 12 worthy. I was in shock that someone as amazingly good as Gina would be booted off before the likes of wonky Sanjaya. I have a feeling that this will be the topic of a lot of coffee break conversations today, lol.

I'm Back!

Welcome back to your regularly scheduled blogging program. I'm sorry that this month's posts have been very limited. I had been extremely busy with the wedding and was off work all last week on what was supposed to be "vacation", so my computer access was limited. I also was very ill with a nasty flu, of which I am still suffering from.

I was due back to work yesterday from vacation, but I called in sick. I did return today, however I highly doubt I will be staying for my full shift. I am still not feeling very well at all, but I came back to work anyway because I am so bored at home sitting on the couch. I honestly don't think I've ever battled a flu this bad ever before in my life. It's been a week and I am not really showing many signs of improvement. My head still pounds, my whole body still aches, I still have a fever, my sinuses are still a mess, my eyes hurt, I can't focus well on things, I'm weak and nauseated etc. etc. I'm just so sick of being sick. It's been week now...come on...let up sometime soon! LOL.

So yah, there's not really much to report from last week while I was on vacation, since I was sick the majority of it. I checked out the new Walmart at the beginning of the week and was actually disappointed with it.

Friday was Ryan's birthday. We didn't really do much to celebrate as I was pretty sick. I did manage to bake him a cake though. He had dinner with his parents of which I skipped out on, then came over to my place for birthday cake and to open some gifts. The rest of weekend was spent feeling miserable either in bed or laying on the couch.

My Carrie girl's all married up now!!!

Holy crap - Where to begin! Let me begin with saying that it feels really, really strange right now not having to think anymore about anything to do with Carrie's wedding. Her wedding has consumed my life for the past nine months and now it's all over with. Kinda strange how you spend so much time and effort into planning something and then boom, it's over with just like that.

So let's try and rewind a bit. I can't remember what we did last Wednesday, so I'll start with Thursday, lol. Thursday morning Carrie and I got up early and went and got our nails done for the wedding. We had some lunch and then went over to our friend Shannon's place (she's a hair stylist with a shop in her home) for some eyebrow waxing (omg - talk about pain) and a trial run for our hair for the wedding. From there it was supper time, so we headed back to my place and made a homemade pizza for dinner and then starting baking 100 cupcakes for the wedding (in lieu of a big wedding cake, we had cupcakes set up in a three tier thingy) and I started baking Carrie's mini wedding cake for her and Chris to cut. Chris' parents arrived into town from Ontario Thursday evening, so after the cupcakes were all done, Chris came over and picked up Carrie and went over to see his parent's. Ryan arrived shortly afterwards and then Chris and Carrie and Carrie's brother Chris (so many Chris'....) stopped in on their way home to see how everything went as far as me finishing up the mini wedding cake.

Friday was rehersal day. We went to the hotel early in the afternoon to start setting up for the wedding. I got to meet the rest of the pack from Ontario, whom I hadn't been able to meet in any of my earlier trips up to Ontario to see Carrie. At 5 p.m. we had a great rehersal and then everyone headed up to Carrie's parent's place for a fabulous rehersal dinner. I didn't get home and in bed until 1 a.m.

Saturday morning I got up at 7 a.m. and started preparing for the big day. I had a shower and finished packing whatever was left and then Carrie and her parent's arrived at my place. We loaded everything that was left at my place and headed over to the hotel, checked in and set up the cupcakes and took care of any last minute things.

10:30 a.m. Shannon arrives to start our hair. She did a fabulous job and at 3:30 p.m. everything started to feel real. We did a few shots with our photographer (who was Angela's dad) and then it was time to head down for the wedding at 4:30. Carrie held up wonderfully all day and just got a little nervous and shaky right before she walked down the aisle. The wedding was short and sweet and soon we were presented with Mr. and Mrs. Chris and Carrie Westbrook.

From there we had pictures taken while the wedding guests had a cocktail hour with some hor duerves (sp?) and then the wedding party was introduced and we had a fabulous dinner of turkey with all the trimmings, 3 different types of salad, rolls, and 5 amazing desserts.

After dinner came speeches...which was the part that I was dreading the whole evening. I made out alright, except that I started out speaking a little fast, but quickly slowed it down, lol. Carrie lost one of the pages to her speech, so had to wing it from there, but she did a good job. Carrie's father was so nervous to speak and was afraid of breaking down while talking, but he did amazing and I'm very proud of him as I know it was extremly difficult for him to get up there.

After that it was party time! I had an awesome time dancing and catching up with a lot of people that I hadn't seen in a long time. Nothing brought me more joy that evening though, then to watch Carrie and Chris' eyes sparkle the entire evening and see the extreme amount of love that they have for each other.

I want to thank you guys again for selecting me to be in your wedding and for trusting me to plan such an important part of your life. I love you guys very much!

Countdown Is Really On!

Today is my last day of work before I start vacation. I'm off until April 16th, so it will be a nice break. A little stressfull at times I'm sure, but it will still be nice to be off.

So 4 days left now until the big wedding day. We're pretty much on track, we know what's left to do and have scheduled when it's got to be done tentatively in our heads, lol. I just hope everything works out and goes off without a hitch. I'm sure it will, we're pretty organized.

Given that I will be off work for almost two weeks, my blog entries may be very limited during that time. I will certainly try and post a bit while I'm off and I would like to put some pictures up from the wedding, but I can't promise when. If you're on facebook, I will be posting stagette pics soon there and hopefully wedding pics on there too.

What A Weekend!

Wow! What a weekend! It flew by so quickly though! It was a very sleep deprived weekend, but one of the best weekends I've had in a long time!

Friday night after I got off work, I headed up to Carrie's parents to visit. It was sooooo good to see her! I had missed her so much! She was floored when she saw me and how much weight I had lost since I'd last seen her at Christmas time. I stayed until about midnight and then headed home to my place and started puttering around doing a few things to get ready for the stagette party I was throwing for Carrie the following night.

Saturday morning Angela and I headed to the farmers market. We ran into Carrie and Chris and her parent's at the market and had a good little chat with them. From there Angela and I headed to Winners and found a dress for Ange to wear to Carrie's wedding this Saturday. Ange and I then headed to the mall to look for some shoes to go with the new dress. We ran into Carrie and crew at the mall in what seemed like every store we went into, lol.

Ange and I then went to the liquor store and loaded up for the evening. Back to my place from there to make jello shooters for the party and start to get ready. Ryan came home while we were mid-jello making. He spent the whole morning doing a firefighter competiton for the town of Oromocto. He did both the written test and the physical test and looked very tired when he got home.

Ange and I decorated and then got a pizza for supper. The girls started rolling in shortly afterward and we partied hard at my place with some fun games and some good food, drinks and laughs until about 11:30. From there we hit Sweetwaters & the Rodeo. We had a ball at the club - Carrie was so funny there! Ryan had taken Carrie's fiance Chris out for the night to play some pool and have a few drinks and they showed up at the bar at around 1 a.m. They had a good laugh at us girls in our get-ups out on the dance floor at the bar. I had made stagette t-shirts for us all, made a tiara and veil to wear, Vickie and I wore fuzzy bunny ears and the rest of the girls had little tiaras - we all looked cute and had a ball!

After the bar Ryan and I, Carrie and Chris and Kim and Angela went back and crashed at my place. Kim and Angela left at around 9 a.m., so they were gone by the time we got up, lol. I made pancakes and sauages for us for breakfast and Carrie's brother Chris (too many Chris'! LOL) came over for breakfast with us too.

It was a fabulous weekend, but I paid for my actions all day and evening yesterday! LOL.
